We took Milo on his first vacation (and plane ride) to the Outer Banks in North Carolina to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday! We had a wonderful time, the weather was beautiful and the beach was gorgeous.
Here is the house we rented on Carova Beach. It was a beautiful house with great views of the ocean. The house was only accessible by driving on the beach for about 30 minutes. We needed a 4WD vehicle, driving on the beach was crazy! Eric was a great driver, except when the kayak strapped to the roof of our car flew off on the way back!
Milo wasn't in a picture taking mood, but here is a nice view from our deck.
My grandpa, aunt Nancy and uncle Gregg joined us for a few days which was a lot of fun. They actually drove in on the beach at night so we were out there flagging them in with flash lights, it was pretty funny!
One of the coolest things about where we stayed were the wild horses. These pictures where taken right by our house. We would randomly spot horses throughout the week.
We rented an ocean kayak which everyone enjoyed (except me)! My sister was amazing and kayaked through all the surf to where it was more calm...I barely made it 10 feet!
OK, I know how lame it is to buy matching clothes...but how could I resist!

As a gift for my dad's birthday my parent's went parasailing.
Since we were right on the beach we were able to tailgate so Milo could enjoy some beach time!

What a wonderful time you all must have had. It looks beautiful! I was there when the matching pants were bought, but couldn't quite picture it. Thanks for that image, I think. Just kidding, you both look great. Thanks also for the swimming Milo I love to see him in motion. Can't wait to see you all very soon. Big kiss to little Milo. One last thing, let's book that house for next year.
I hope that I'm as good of a mom as you Kristin! These pictures are adorable. I love the matching outfits. Next time I buy Milo something I will call to get Eric's size too. My favorite pic is the one of you holding Milo up while you are standing on the surf. What a great vacation!

i heart carova beach; it's one of my favorite places in the world to chill out. i'm so glad you guys enjoyed your time there! did you have a chance to drive on the beach yourself? it's like nothing else. and milo, ohhh milo, what a cutie.
